
In this lesson, students will discuss method acting using new vocabulary, as well as discover other types of acting that their favorite actors usually apply when playing in movies. They will also review mixed conditionals.
Warm-up
The lesson starts with what students know in terms of different types of acting, which sparks interest related to the student’s favorite actors.
Video: Why the Oscars love method actors
The student learns words and expressions related to method acting by matching the words with their definitions, using those words to complete sentences (ill-advised, raw, authenticity, etc.). After watching the video about method acting, the student answers questions related to the video. Then, they decide if the statements are true or false.
Grammar: Mixed conditionals
The student reviews the mixed conditionals structure and use. Then, they practice using mixed conditionals in topic-related sentences.
Vocabulary related to boasting
The student learns words and expressions related to boasting by matching the words with their definitions, using those words to complete sentences and answer questions.
Discussion: method acting
The student talks about their favorite actor trying to utilize the new vocabulary as much as they can.
