Warm-up:
Students discuss a few questions about the topic of the lesson.
Video:
Students watch a video titled “Massachusetts state police use robotic dog and drone in highway standoff.” After watching the video, they answer a few questions.
Exercises:
In the first two exercises the students match words and phrases with their definitions or meanings. After that, they map out what happens when a patrol robot detects a problem. In the last section, the learners group statements into arguments for or against the use of robot police.
Discussion:
The students design their own patrol robot, and then introduce it.
