Is crypto here to stay?

In this C1 ESL lesson plan, students will assess the long-term role of cryptocurrency in global finance using advanced language.

Warm-up: 

Students will look at statements and guess which ones are true.

Video: 

Students watch “Reddit co-founder: Blockchain technology is here to stay.” and complete a gap-fill exercise based on the content.

Exercises: 

Students will be tasked with coming up with synonyms for the words in a text. In the second exercise, they will be asked to replace the parts of the sentences with words from a box. Finally, students cross out an incorrect word in sentences.

Reading: 

Students analyze a text about the future of cryptocurrencies and answer in-depth questions.

Discussion: 

Students unscramble and discuss a quote about cryptocurrencies with the teacher.
