In October we added 13 new lesson plans:

  • Diamonds are forever
    In this Advanced ESL lesson, students will learn key vocabulary related to diamonds and discuss what makes diamond a diamond.
  • Buy now, pay later
    In this Proficiency ESL lesson, students will learn about the concept of “buy now, pay later” and understand common terms related to these services. They will explore the advantages and disadvantages of using such services and practice using relevant vocabulary.
  • The likelihood of a coincidence
    In this B2 ESL lesson plan, students will explore the language of numbers and trends. The plan aims to boost confidence in using statistical vocabulary and expressions.
  • The anti-hero
    In this C2 ESL lesson plan, students will examine the concept of anti-heroes in literature and popular media. We will analyze how authors craft these complex characters and discuss the impact of anti-heroes on narrative and audience perception.
  • Ethical dilemmas
    In this B2 ESL lesson plan, students will explore the concept of ethical dilemmas through engaging discussions and interactive activities. 
  • Lifestyle creep
    In this B1 ESL lesson plan, students will explore the concept of lifestyle creep through a variety of language activities. This lesson aims to introduce vocabulary related to personal finance, consumer behavior, and lifestyle choices.
  • Rockets
    In this Upper-Intermediate ESL lesson plan students will explore the exciting world of rockets through a variety of engaging activities designed to improve their English language skills.
  • Working multiple jobs
    In this Intermediate ESL lesson plan, students will develop their vocabulary and speaking skills related to employment and work-life balance. This lesson focuses on the topic of working multiple jobs.
  • High stakes
    In this Intermediate ESL lesson plan, students will enhance their English language skills through an engaging lesson centered on the topic of gambling, with a focus on its psychological aspects. This lesson aims to develop vocabulary related to games of chance and the mental processes involved in gambling behaviors. 
  • The FatFire movement
    In this Proficiency ESL lesson plan, students will examine the FATFIRE movement – an approach to aggressive financial independence and early retirement – through focused vocabulary work on investment terms, money-saving expressions, and high-level business language. 
  • How to spot a liar
    In this Upper-Intermediate ESL lesson plan, students will practice detecting lies and deception. They will develop their speaking and critical listening skills by analyzing verbal and non-verbal cues in conversation. They will learn vocabulary related to deception.
  • Why escaping poverty is so hard
    In this Advanced ESL lesson plan, students will analyze and discuss social and economic factors that create cycles of poverty while developing advanced vocabulary related to economics and society.
  • OK boomer
    In this Intermediate ESL lesson plan, students will discuss generational differences by focusing on Baby Boomers and their impact on American society. Students will practice vocabulary related to post-war life, values, and social change. They will also practice grammar in the form of intensifiers and mitigators.
