In this lesson, students will learn how to prepare a healthy meal, and how to give advice using ‘should’.
Warm-up questions
The lesson begins with a discussion related to eating habits and health.
Video: Balanced diet
Prior to watching a video about balanced diet, the student gets familiarized with vocabulary used in the video (balanced diet, energy, muscles, and digest).
Then, the student watches the video in segments and completes video comprehension after each segment.
The student then uses the new vocabulary to complete the sentences about healthy lifestyle.
After that, they put the foods in the categories they belong – animal food, plant food, and junk food.
Grammar: should/shouldn’t
Giving advice using should/shouldn’t is introduced along with the structure and use in a sentence.
The student demonstrates their knowledge by finding and correcting mistakes in sentences about bad eating habits, and turning sentences with should into open and closed questions.
