Warm-up
In the warm-up part, the student ticks the words/phrases that can be used to describe the picture (swipe left, online dating, tindering).
Video: How to stop swiping and find your person on dating apps
Before watching the video, the student gets familiar with the new vocabulary (gamification, swipe, self-aware, etc.) through a matching exercise.
Then, they watch the TED video How to stop swiping and find your person on dating apps and answer the questions related to it and mark the statements true or false.
Vocabulary and reading: Dating etiquette
The student learns new words related to dating etiquette (enthusiastic, genuine, overshare, etc.), reads the dating tips, and answers the questions about the text.
They also learn how to recognize red flags when meeting someone online.
The lesson ends with a wrap-up activity.
