Warm-up

Before they watch the video, the student gets familiar with new vocabulary (colonel, regardless, enormity, etc.) and practices using them in sentences.

They watch the video called This man can pronounce every word in the dictionary and decide if the statements based on the video are true or false.

 

Reading: Origins and meanings of tricky words

The student reads about the origins and meanings of the words regardless, schwa, enormity, and colonel and completes the reading comprehension practice.

 

The lesson ends with a section of wrap-up questions.
