In this Advanced ESL lesson, students will practice vocabulary and ideas related to business meetings. They will watch two videos and read an article about using VR for meetings in the future. We also go over modal verbs and how to use them properly.
Warm-up
The lesson starts with a discussion about business meetings.
Video 1: 5 tips for dealing with meeting overload
Before watching a video, the student is introduced to new vocabulary through a matching exercise. They will practice using the new words and matching some of them (grueling, whim, cranky, etc.). They will watch the video, which discusses how current solutions don’t seem to work, and then discuss questions based on the video.
Video 2: When meetings are no longer online
After watching the video, students will discuss if this scenario is possible in the future and explain why/why not.
Reading: Business meetings in the future
The student will read an article about future business meetings and discuss it with the teacher.
Review
The student reviews the vocabulary and grammar by completing sentences and answering wrap-up questions.
