Me, myself, and I

Lesson overview

The main goals of this ESL lesson plan are to:

  • – Master first-person pronouns “me,” “myself,” and “I” through TED-Ed videos and sentence correction exercises in this intermediate ESL lesson plan.
  • – Practice elimination techniques for choosing correct pronouns by removing other people from sentences for adult English lessons.
  • – Identify grammar patterns and correct common pronoun mistakes using these English teaching materials.

In this Intermediate lesson plan, the student will learn how to correctly use the pronouns me, myself, and I.

Warm-up

In the warm-up part, the student picks the sentence with the correct use of the first-person pronoun.

They learn how to distinguish between me, myself, and I.

Video: When to use me, myself, and I

The student watches a TED-Ed video, When to use me, myself, and I. Then, they identify the correct sentences based on the video and correct the flawed ones.

They learn and practice an easy way to find out which pronoun to use – by eliminating the other person from the sentence.

In the wrap-up part, they sum up what they learned about first-person pronouns.
