

The lie or is it the lay of the land?

Warm-up
The lesson starts with discussing the phrase ‘The lay of the land’ in English.
Video: Lie vs. Lay
Before watching a video, the student is introduced to new vocabulary (prone, supine, recline, etc.) through a matching exercise. They will practice using the new words and matching some of them. They will watch the video, which discusses correctly using the words ‘lie’ and ‘lay’ and then work on exercises to exhibit understanding.
Review
The student reviews the vocabulary and grammar by completing sentences and answering wrap-up questions.
