Warm-up:
Students answer a few questions about the topic of the lesson and decide which statements are true and which are myths.
Video:
Students watch a video titled “China and Europe go toe-to-toe on trade.” After watching the video, they answer a few questions.
Grammar:
Introduction to contrast and concession coupled with a few exercises to cement the knowledge.
Exercises:
The students match words and phrases with their definitions. After that, they choose the words that best complete a set of sentences, while minding the grammar. In the next exercises, the learners sort words into the correct categories. Following that they complete a number of sentences with the proper form of the words in brackets. Later, the students match phrasal verbs with their meanings. In the following exercise, they complete sentences with prepositions. In the last section, the learners match idioms with their meanings.
Reading:
Learners read a short text and then answer a few questions about it.
Discussion:
The students discuss a number of questions about the topic of the lesson. In the second part, they role-play scenarios connected to the theme of the lesson.
