Using the present to talk about the past

The main goals of this ESL lesson plan are to:

• – Master using Present Simple to refer to the past through BBC grammar videos and reading passages that demonstrate this grammar structure in real contexts.
• – Build vocabulary and idioms by working with texts and completing sentence exercises in this ESL grammar lesson.
• – Develop comprehension and application skills through video analysis, story activities, and grammar practice designed for intermediate ESL lessons.

In this ESL Grammar lesson, students will learn about using the Present Simple to refer to the past.  They will watch a video and read an article about the subject. They will work on exercises to promote the correct understanding and use of grammar. They will also be introduced to new vocabulary and idioms in this lesson.

Warm-up
