The Wellness Trap

This C2-level lesson plan explores wellness culture, health vocabulary, and medical ethics through discussion, video analysis, vocabulary exercises, reading, and interactive activities.

Warm-up:

Students discuss how they would behave in a hypothetical situation. 

Video: 

Students watch an informative video titled “Christy Harrison discusses the harm of wellness culture in her book “The Wellness Trap”?” After viewing, they pick which topics were mentioned in the video.

Exercises:

Language skills are reinforced through interactive exercises. The learners are asked to complete gaps in sentences with words provided in a box. In the second exercise, they complete health-related expressions.

Reading:

The students read a short text about modern trends in the wellness industry and answer a series of questions.

Discussion:

Students unscramble sentences to form questions and answer them.
