The rise of plastic surgery

The main goals of this ESL lesson plan are to:

• – Learn, practice, and apply vocabulary related to plastic surgery and related industries.
• – Develop better grammar skills with verbs “say” and “tell”  through exercises like reading comprehension, discussion, and categorization.
• – Explore discussion and comprehension skills in English through prompts surrounding cosmetic surgery.

Warm-up 

The students look at pictures and connect them with their descriptions.

Video 

Students will view a video titled “‘Snapchat Dysmorphia’: Why Teens Are Turning To Plastic Surgery.” After watching the video, students will answer questions to practice and apply comprehension in English.

Grammar

This segment introduces the English verbs  “say” and “tell” with examples to illustrate their use.

Exercises 

In this part of the lesson, students will practice applying content and grammar learned through activities like “fill in the blank”, discussing prompts, and categorization. 

Reading 

Students will read a short passage about plastic surgery and answer a set of questions to practice reading comprehension skills in English.

Wrap Up Activity

The final “you do” activity for student practice is creating a quote using given words.
