The dangers of artificial general intelligence

The main goals of this ESL lesson plan are to:

• – Practice advanced English vocabulary and complex concepts related to AI (Artificial Intelligence) 
• – Develop better language skills through categorization, “fill in the blank”, and reading comprehension activities.
• – Utilize the video called, “How will AI change the world?” to further develop comprehension and discussion skills in English. 

Warm-up

Students will start with a categorization activity with AI related vocabulary and short phrases.

Video

Students will watch a video called “How will AI change the world?”.  Afterwards, the students will explore the video’s content during a “we do” follow-up activity.

Exercises

Students will engage in categorization and “fill in the blank” activities to practice with AI related vocabulary and content. 

Reading

Students will read a short passage about AI risks and then answer follow-up questions to check for reading comprehension.

Wrap Up

In the final “you do” activity  for this lesson, students will analyze and discuss a chart related to the growth of AI.
