Structure your day

In this Intermediate ESL lesson plan, the goal is to broaden students’ vocabulary on the theme of task management. The lesson also introduces and practices the unreal uses of past tenses: wish, would rather, if only, and it’s time.

Warm-up
The lesson starts with an exercise where students match words to their definitions.

Video
Students will watch a video named “Tips to Structure Your Day.” Post-viewing, they will fill gaps in sentences to check for comprehension.

Grammar
Focus here is introducing unreal uses of past tenses: wish, would rather, if only, and it’s time. Examples are given to aid understanding.

Exercises
In this part of the lesson, students will fill gaps in sentences and choose correct responses to different situations.

Reading
Students will read a short text about task management, followed by a Q&A session.

Discussion
To wrap up, students will discuss a famous quote.
