New Year’s resolutions

The main goals of this ESL lesson plan are to:

In this B2 ESL lesson plan, students will focus on New Year’s resolutions through interactive exercises. Students will develop their language skills while exploring goal-setting and personal development.

Warm-up: 

The lesson begins with a discussion about New Year’s resolutions.

Video: 

Students watch a video: “Source: CBS Sunday Morning | The history of New Year’s resolutions.” They then choose which topics were mentioned in the video.

Exercises: 

Students strengthen their language skills through word-definition matching exercises and using the correct future form.

Reading: 

During the reading comprehension section, students analyze a text about New Year’s resolutions and answer in-depth questions.

Discussion: 

Students discuss their experiences with New Year’s resolutions.
