Free solo

The main goals of this ESL lesson plan are to:

• – expand vocabulary related to extreme sports through association guessing games and definition matching exercises;
• – introduce and practice imperatives in various contexts through discussions about hypothetical risky scenarios and mastering command structures;
• – improve comprehension and discussion skills by watching the Free Solo trailer, reading a text about free solo climbing, and engaging in conversations about famous quotes and extreme sports.

This B1 level ESL lesson plan is designed to enrich students’ vocabulary on the theme of extreme sports and enhance their proficiency in using imperatives.

Warm-up 

The lesson begins with an engaging association game where students guess words related to extreme sports.

Video

The class will view a clip, the “Free Solo – Trailer.” Following the viewing, students will respond to comprehension questions to ensure understanding.

Exercises
