In this C2 lesson plan, students will practice vocabulary about travel and international borders. They will watch a video and read an article about the subject. We will go over discourse markers and how to use them properly.
Warm-up

Video: The Italy-Switzerland border is melting
Before watching a video, the student is introduced to new vocabulary through a matching exercise. They will practice using the new words and matching some of them. They will watch the video, which discusses how current solutions don’t seem to work, and then discuss questions based on the video.
Discourse markers
The student will get familiar with discourse markers and practice using them properly.
Reading for understanding:
The student will read an article about other borders where this could be happening and how it will affect the people who live there.
Review
