Warm-up:
The lesson kicks off with students discussing different ideas related to interviewing for a job.
Video:
Students watch a video “Stand Out in a Job Interview.” After viewing, they discuss the main messages from the video using provided phrases.
Speaking:
Next, students read a number of statements and decide whether they agree or disagree. They are asked to give reasons for their opinions. They pick three statements and argue the opposite view. In the second exercise, the students discuss opposing viewpoints about job interviews. Then they pick a few questions from the boxes and share their thoughts on them. After that, the students match the words in a box to the correct category about job interviews and explain their reasoning. Finally, they look at a few scenarios and explain how they would react.
Discussion:
To wrap up the lesson, students choose a quote that resonates with them and explain why they chose it.
