Warm-up
Students are introduced to the topic of long-distance relationships with some starter questions.
Tense review
Students complete a selection of tasks aimed at reviewing Present Perfect and past forms, namely Past Simple, Past Perfect and Past Continuous. Activities include gap fills, multiple choice, and sentence matching.
Video
Students watch a video about long-distance relationships. They identify advice given in the video and learn how to use various verb phrases relevant to relationships (e.g., break up, go with the flow, tear you apart, etc.).
Discussion
Students discuss situations either from their own lives or those of people they know, all while applying the vocabulary and grammar taught in the lesson.
Practice
Students read case studies of couples who have been in long-distance relationships and engage in activities such as gap fills, an emoji quiz, and giving relationship advice.
