Are you using AI more than you think?

The main goals of this ESL lesson plan are to:

• – expand vocabulary related to artificial intelligence and build familiarity with AI terminology through definition matching and sentence completion exercises;
• – improve comprehension skills by watching a video about AI in the workplace and reading a text about AI in everyday life, followed by targeted questions;
• – develop critical thinking and speaking abilities through picture analysis to identify AI applications and engage in discussions about AI’s impact on society.

In this C2 lesson plan, students will practice vocabulary related to AI.

Warm-up 

The lesson begins with students analyzing a picture and finding objects that might be using AI.

Video 

Students will view a video titled “How people are using AI in the workplace.” After watching the video, they will answer questions to check for comprehension.

Exercises 

Students will learn new vocabulary by matching terms with their definitions. 

In the second exercise, students will be asked to choose which word completes the sentence correctly.

Reading 

In this part, students will read a short text about the use of AI in our everyday lives. After that, they will answer questions about the text.

Discussion 

The lesson concludes with a discussion around a famous quote.
