Warm-Up:
The lesson starts with students answering a few questions about life on other planets.
Video:
Students watch a video called “Are we alone in the universe?” After watching, students answer questions based on the video.
Reading:
Students read a text, paying special attention to the negative adverbials and inversions.
Grammar:
Introduction to inversion after negative adverbials.
Exercises:
In the first exercise, the students invert sentences to add emphasis and drama using the adverbials in brackets. In the second exercise, the learners select the best words to complete each sentence. In the third exercise, fill in the gaps in sentences with adverbials. In the next two, they match words with their synonyms. In the sixth exercise, the students match words with their antonyms. Two exercises of completing word families follow. In the final exercise, the learners correct mistakes in sentences.
