Introduction

The lesson starts with reading a passage in which the student identifies words and phrases related to branding and marketing (marketing campaign, target demographic, merchandising, etc.).

 

Reading: What is branding?

The student reads and completes a text about branding and its purpose by choosing the correct alternative. Next, they practice using marketing vocabulary (slogan, launch, retail outlet, etc.).

Then, the student puts phrases related to marketing into the correct categories

 

Video: How marketers target your nose

The student watches a Vox video How marketers target your nose and answers the video comprehension questions. Finally, they apply what they learned from the video by matching brands with their characteristic scents.
