The Drama of the Tour de France

This B2 lesson plan combines language skills development with sports education through multiple interactive exercises.  

Warm-up 

Students analyze a situation and discuss the best course of action.

Video 

Students watch an informative video titled “Why the Tour de France is so brutal.” After viewing, they complete a quiz.

Exercises 

Language skills are reinforced through various activities. Students match sentence beginnings with the correct endings. In the second exercise, they match phrases to create meaningful expressions about professional cycling. Finally, they complete sentences with words related to the theme of the lesson.

Reading 

Students read a text about professional cycling and answer questions about the text to test reading comprehension.

Discussion 

Students answer thought-provoking questions.
